If you are using a slow WiFi connection, some of the suggestions below might help improve. Most of them have to do with the WiFi emitting device, called routers.

This is called a 'router'.

This is called a 'router'.

Place your router off the ground

There are a lot of objects hindering the WiFi signal on the floor. Also, the way most routers are designed, they broadcast the waves slightly downwards. So it would work best if the router is on the ceiling or the wall, not on the floor.

Keep the router away from metal

Metal is the ultimate wifi signal blocker. Metal is the hardest material for wifi to penetrate because metal absorbs wifi. Anything including metal, such as doors, walls, infrastructure and other electronic devices can significantly diminish or completely terminate the WiFi signal. The more metal there is between your WiFi router and the connected device, the worse the Episoden quality will be.

So let's not hide our ugly routers behind TVs or desktops.

Adjust the directions of the antennas

Most routers have two or four antennas in them. Ideally, you could position on vertically and one horizontally.

Devices work best when their internal antennas are parallel with the routers'. Most antennas inside laptops are horizontal, but if you're using a mobile device or tablet, it totally depends on how you are holding it. By having one horizontal and one vertical, you have the highest chance of having a parallel match with antennas.

Positioning one antenna vertically, one horizontally can help improve the wireless connection.

Place your router in the open space

Since the WiFi signal cannot easily penetrate walls and even glass windows, it would be better to put the router out in the open.

It's highly recommended to buy LAN cable extender, to put the router close to the center of your house, or to put it closer to the place you use WiFi the most. Below is the example of the LAN cable extender.
